I hope you are all having a wonderful week!:)
I wanted to share a few photos of a couple projects we did this week for our home:)
I really enjoy the look of authentic vintage grain sacks. Below is a vintage grain sack inspired pillow that we made with a J and M for Jesse and Melissa.:) Now, I will say it was a bit stretching for me to put our initials on the pillow, because I have a ridiculous fear that our home will begin to look like a “shrine to Jesse and Melissa.” I know I know… it’s ridiculous, especially since whenever I have seen anyone else with similar pillows/home decor, I absolutely love it. So this was good for me to move past my “shrine complex!”;) I really like how the pillow turned out!:)
and… A little splash has been added to our kitchen:) This was made with burlap fabric, acrylic paint, and a good old fashion handmade stencil (I am hoping to post a tutorial on this project soon).
“Love” and “serve”… We wanted these words to be constantly visible as a reminder of our vision for hospitality in our home.

I love the cute pear idea Melissa!! It’s neat to see how you add meaningful words throughout your home:) the pillow is also quite lovely:)
Thanks Olivia!:) I have definitely come to appreciate words more and more and really enjoy incorporating words throughout our home:)
Love it! Pretty pillow… is the striping painted also? I think the burlap wall hanging would be fun to do with my girls sometime. :)
Thanks Julie!:) Yes, the striping is painted on also… I used masking tape (to make the lines) and fabric paint:) Aw, yes. I think your girls would so enjoy making the pear hanging!:)
I love the new designs. They look great. I agree with Olivia that it is great to see meaningful words around the house. It helps us focus on what is important, doesn’t it? I hope you have a great week too. :)
Thank you for stopping by Susan!:) yes, I have truly found that having meaningful words around our home are good reminders… I am continually brainstorming on how to incorporate more of them!:) I hope you have a wonderful week also!:)
Looks Great Melissa! I am surprised by the J and M…. I can imagine that moving past the complex was tough for you… nice! Keep up the great work and ideas for Laura to copy!
Thanks Mike!:) haha… the complex was tough, but i made it! hehe!:) maybe Laura will be ready to paint a M & L on your next pillow!;)
