With a sister who is getting married in less than a month (woo hoo!:)), I have had the awesome opportunity to do some creating for the wedding! My sister and her fiance, Jason, asked if I would be interested in designing their wedding invitations, and I immediately jumped at the opportunity with little thought of what this might entail. I can say that I am so thankful that I had this opportunity because it pushed me creatively…. I used a few different vintage images from the Graphics Fairy (if you love vintage images and DIY crafts, check out this amazing blog!), and basically used Photoshop to create an invitation from the images I was working with. I had minimal experience using Photoshop prior to this venture, so it was quite stretching, but I am pretty sure I would not have ever tried creating in this way if it had not been for Jessica and Jason asking me to. I really enjoyed the process of design, and am excited and hopeful that I will do more! Now don’t get me wrong, there were moments of stress for sure, mostly when creating became perfectionism at its worst! But I am realizing that I can’t blame my creative work for my moments of stress and perfectionism…. it is definitely more my problem than the invitation’s! hehe!:) I truly enjoyed the process and am excited to explore more design. I wanted to share some photos with you of the invitations!:)

These look great, Melissa! I’m no Photoshop pro, either, but I’m planning on using a mix of PicMonkey.com and Microsoft Publisher to design the invites for mine and Brian’s wedding.
