As I mentioned in my last post, this past weekend I had the privilege of sharing a vendor tent with my friend Lauren Nobile at the Fall Festival in Ellicottville NY. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend and the festival was packed, so neat to see so many people in one place. We had so much support from family and friends who came out to see us, which was so encouraging!
Here is a look at our tent all set up
Day 1: Lauren and I…apparently we look alike because we had several people ask us if we were sisters :)
Going into it I had no idea what to expect and tried very hard to let go of any expectations and fears, although it was definitely a battle. Overall though, I really believe this event was a huge mile-marker for me in my creative adventure… not so much on a business end as much as in what God has been working in my heart through this time. I have really felt stretched over the period of the past year since I began to think about starting my business. It has been an experience that has really brought out a lot of heart struggles that were somewhat less evident and I have felt Him inviting me to trust Him and let go of all else like I never have before. Throughout the preparation, festival event, and reflection He has been so faithful to turn my eyes toward Himself and affirm to me that He is leading me in this adventure… even when I struggle to see it. I guess faith is just that: no sight – just trust. It has been, continues to be, and will always be a journey for me, but He is faithful and I saw that very clearly through this event.
Below are some more photos of the festival, Lauren and I, our tent, and our work. It was so fun to share a tent with Lauren and I was so happy with how it looked once all of our work was arranged. There were so many wonderful people who stopped by and it was a neat experience to be able to meet the people who purchased my work. That has not typically been the case, as much of my work has been sold through my online shop, and I really appreciated the connection I was able to make with someone who really enjoyed what I have created… and in general, just to hear feedback from so many different people. It was great to walk around a little bit and meet some of the other vendors and see the other work that was there!
Overall it was such a fun, exciting, and encouraging weekend and I look forward to doing more shows in the future!:)
